Our selection now includes works by landscape and art photographer Marko Ikonen, from Salo.
Marko talks about his work, passion and hobby as a photographer: "When I walk in nature, I feel at my best that I am one with it and the beautiful landscapes that open up before me. I want to share and give others the experience and joy that I experience myself. With my pictures, I interpret the story told by the views, often rough and dramatic ones. I intuitively feel when an image begins to be born in my mind and when I take a picture, I am excited and grateful even before I see the finished result.
My photographic style may be influenced by 19th-century neoclassical and academic painting, for example the works of William-Adolphe Bouguereau, which I admire. When I was younger, I also enjoyed painting."
